The End of the World

On April 2, 1956 CBS debuted one of TV's longest running series, As The World Turns. Now 54 years and more the 13,000 episodes later we say good-bye to the residents of Oakdale. ATWT helped to launch the careers of several Hollywood big shots including Julianne Moore and Meg Ryan to name a few. The show also made history when it introduces the first gay male character on American soap opera's in 1988 and went even further in 2007 with the first male on male kiss in daytime.
